Hello lovelies.. I am SO excited to share with you my exclusive interview with the Australian beauty Tammy Hembrow. She has proven to the world you can be a mamma, a mega boss babe and still maintain a healthy lifestyle. I love the fact she promotes fitness, healthy eating habits and the message that it is possible to look amazing after kids. ( Note: Tammy is reducing her intake of meat and dairy yay- don't forget to get some inspo with my easy/yummy vegetarian recipes people).
This 23year old Queensland honey is absolutely smashing goals and here are some reasons why she is an inspiration and a huge motivation.
- Mamma of two
- 7.3 million followers on Instagram
- Launched her own active/leisure line Saskii Collection ( Hint hint husband Christmas is not far away and I need new workout gear)
- Was personally scouted by Khloe Kardashian to appear in her Good American campaign
- Collaborated with In The Style and designed her own collection
- Represents numerous brands like Womens Best Protein, Iconic London and Bondi Sands
- Entrepreneur of the Year 2017 (New Influencer Category)
- Cosmo Woman Of The Year 2017 (Fitness and Travel)
and the list goes on...
I discovered Tammy when she was pregnant with her youngest, Saskia. I was pregnant with Romeo at exactly the same time (they are born 2 weeks apart I think - possible future gf for Rome maybe haha). I enjoyed following her pregnancy journey whilst I was experiencing mine for the first time and even though I could not train during pregnancy because I had Hyperemesis gravidarum, I was determined to get back to the gym after my c-section recovery.
With over 7million followers, some negativity is bound to occur but she always maintains a positive mindset, stays grateful and is very professional.
I don't think Tammy get's enough credit for her dedication and work ethic. The negative comments tend to focus on her appearance and while I respect the fact everyone is entitled to their own opinion and everyone has their own perspective, I also believe nothing good comes from putting someone down and every action has a reaction. If you give out genuine positivity and love, that is what you will receive in turn. Spreading hate will only attract more of that to yourself. It is one of the laws of the universe :)
In my opinion, Tammy has put in the work in all aspects for her life. She has created a life for herself that she wants. I think that's something I want to put an emphasis on with this post. You can manifest the life you want but you must take action.
Whether you want to be the best mother or father, if you want to be financially independent or if your goal is to be happy- these are all equally important and I think Tammy is a great example of what you can achieve if you put your mind to it, believe in yourself and don't give up.
There isn't a limited supply of success or happiness, there is enough to go around for everyone.
Happy reading and I hope you enjoy this interview beautiful people.
G :Tammy ! You are literally every woman’s mamma goals. Firstly congratulations on your success. When did you first realise you Instagram account was the stepping stone to a career as a social media influencer and how did you take action ?
Honestly, when I was at around 10k followers on Instagram I saw the potential to really turn this into something. Instagram was a valuable tool and I was at the point then when I was building good engagement. I knew that people were beginning to value my opinion too which is extremely valuable today. At that point I realised this was a new realm to marketing and I was going to harness these new tools.
G : What’s some words you live by/ life motto?
You can achieve anything you put your mind to. I always believed in myself when other didn’t. At the end of the day I got where I wanted to be, and I’m still kicking goals. That’s not to say you don’t fail along the way, I have had heaps of obstacles but you just have to learn from them and improve.
G :From your posts, you display a very positive attitude on life. Everyone has low days though-How do you maintain your positivity on these days?
Definitely trying to keep active, the gym for me can change my mood around on any day. It’s hard though on the days I can’t get the time because I’m either on full day shoots, or in meetings. Even on those days I try to get a quick home workout in either in the morning or evening.
G: Who are your biggest influencers and who motivates you on your journey?
I would say what motivates me most is my kids. Everything I do is for them. They are such a big part of my journey and I really want to set an example to them that hard work pays off.
G: As a mamma to a 15month old boy I sometimes struggle with maintaining a work/ family balance. Any advice for mammas out there on how you do it?
Both are a juggling act for me still, I honestly just try my best to manage my time and plan but being a mum you know that sometimes planning goes out the window. My biggest piece of advice would be not to beat yourself up about failure. You can’t do everything right all the time, failing is a part of being a parent and a business owner. You learn from your mistakes and you’re often smarter from it.
G : Last question, If you were stuck on an island and you could only eat one meal what would it be ?
Donuts :)
Much Love,
The Designer Hippy
